Population growth in relation with demand of new houses
In the article the magazine Foreign Affairs published "Mexico’s Urban Future", they explained the huge growth that the country has been facing in the last years and how this change will still growing. Yarza (2016) says that the lack of housing that Mexico is experimenting depends a lot in the people from rural areas that look for a development. As we can see in the Figure 1, Mexico is the second country in Latin America with the biggest population growth and as the author mention, this growth affects the quality of life. "The driving force in the housing demand is the formation of new families and households. The growth of the population is a secondary driver, and it is more related with the use of space and characteristics of the dwellings than the demand for brand new houses." Reference: Yarza, J.
