Population growth in relation with demand of new houses

Image
In the article the magazine Foreign Affairs published  "Mexico’s Urban Future", they explained the huge growth that the country has been facing in the last years and how this change will still growing. Yarza (2016) says that the lack of housing that Mexico is experimenting depends a lot in the people from rural areas that look for a development. As we can see in the Figure 1, Mexico is the second country in Latin America with the biggest population growth and as the author mention, this growth affects the quality of life. "The driving force in the housing demand is the formation of new families and households. The growth of the population is a secondary driver, and it is more related with the use of space and characteristics of the dwellings than the demand for brand new houses." Reference: Yarza, J. (2016).  COMPETITIVE CITIES: The challenges for Urban Development and Special Economic Zones. Foreign Affairs. From: https://www.foreignaffairs.com/co...

Personal opinion related to "Housing, Health, and Happiness" article

I recommend the article " Housing, Health, and Happiness" because it talks about our objective, and how a real change in this situation can affect in different manners the lifestyle of the Mexican citizens.  As Cattaneo (2009) mention " We investigate the impact of a large-scale Mexican program to replace dirt  floors with cement floors on child health and adult happiness...  we find signficant improvements in adult welfare measured by increased satisfaction with their housing and quality of life"  The article provides the example of data that these researchers used and how they converted it into  information  and eventually into knowledge. The article has a lot of useful information about the effects of a good place to live. Reference:  Cattaneo, M., Galiani, S., Gertler, P., Martinez, S., Titiunik, R. (2009). He also indicated a strong interest in expanding housing opportunities to segments of the population who are currently not being served by the housing funds and banks to the extent that the right to a dignified home is enshrined in Mexico’s Constitution." Lack housing in Mexico (team 33)

Image
We have the duty to discuss the topic of lack of housing in Mexico and look for possible solutions to this issue. Today the difficulties of having access to a living place are increasing for developing countries. The ease of access to a living place is crucial since having a house is vital for any living being. The problem comes when many people do not have that facility, and is when the health troubles start and quality of life is seen in a dilemma. “The social interest housing in Mexico originated in the dwelling for the worker, issued at the beginning of the last century by obligation patrones” (Elvira Schwans, 2014).   As students of the Universidad de las Americas Puebla, decided to talk about this topic because the Team 33 is c by students of different programs, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Actuary and Chemestry Enginereeng. So we consider this problem a subject where each of us can apply their knowledge and get the conclusion as a team ....
