Poverty in Mexico

Poverty is a social issue that imposes serious limitations regarding the physical, intellectual, and social development of the people who suffer from it. Likewise, it hinders the equality of opportunities among individuals and evinces gaps related to the exercise of human, economic and social rights of a society. https://www.coneval.org.mx/Informes/Coordinacion/INFORMES_Y_PUBLICACIONES_PDF/REPORT_OF_POVERTY_IN_MEXICO_2010.pdf

Unfortunately, this is a reality because people +50 years old are the ones that more often we see in the streets. What can we do for a change?

Mexican taxes ir one impediment for some poor people, because for those people even 16% is a big impediment, we don’t consider how taxes affect some people and how important it is for them. So we should regulate taxes.    Link:  https://mexlaw.ca/what-you- need-to-know-about-your- rental-property-and-mexicos- tax-laws/

HOMEX as one of the most helpful institutions

Homex is one of the most important Mexican construction company, that claims to be honest and make quality houses, but has been involved in a huge fraud.

This picture shows, how some people live in Mexico, because they can’t have anything better.

NETFLIX serie that shows the reality in Mexico

Image
We can see something important from this bad quality Mexican show. And it’s the white washing society we have in our country. Mexico tries to show the whitest part of it and tries to make invisible the rest the poor, those vulnerable, if we talk about house lacking we have to understand the reasons, one of those is this: “Mexico wants to make invisible the poor and the homeless, make them look like they don’t exist and we can’t help those we want to ignore”.

Affordable housing with a little taste of humor

Image
As we know, how government or real state agents show us the information, is a shocking secret that we won't know, "only one can win" sadly in Mexico is the government... for now. With the Mexican citizens looking for a change, new organizations and new programs are starting to grow, hopefully new movements will come.

"Helping Mexicans access credit and affordable housing through sustainable community development" by Jung 2016

The project that Jung is presenting, is another solution to our main problems that we explained in other posts, it's that Mexicans can afford a real and a decent place to live. As Jungs says " Our mission is to help people access credit and affordable housing. This is accomplished at the community level, bringing neighbors together through savings & credit programs & aiding in the construction of each other’s homes. These efforts foster accountability & unity, providing pride of ownership not only in each family’s new home, but also in the investment they have made in the greater community."  As we can see this solution is not only based on the help people can offer to others, it's more about a self help, to grow and  maintain a stable way of living.
